Dr Cameron Altmann

Ear, Nose & Throat Surgeon

About Dr Altmann

Dr Altmann is an experienced Townsville based Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon providing a contemporary, gentle and caring approach to adults and children from Townsville and North Queensland undergoing surgery of the Ear, Nose and Throat for the past 20 years.

While offering surgery for all Ear, Nose and Throat conditions he is particularly focussed on paediatric (children’s) ENT Surgery as well as sinus and nose surgery including rhinoplasty with many of his referrals coming from other ENT Surgeons.

Dr Altmann also specialises in parotidectomy and enjoys the intricate challenges involved in preserving the facial nerve when removing Parotid gland tumours, whether in superficial or deep gland and whether primary or revision surgery.

Dr Altmann strives to achieve optimum surgical outcomes for all of his patients and aims for the least painful postoperative course with gentle surgical technique and copious use of Local Anaesthetic while the patient is under General Anaesthesia.

Education

Graduating from medical school at the University of Queensland in Brisbane with First Class Honours Dr Altmann was awarded the University Medal. He completed his ENT training in Queensland and after working in Townsville for 4 years during his training fell in love with Townsville’s people, lifestyle and ocean, always vowing to return. He settled permanently in Townsville and began Private Ear, Nose and Throat Surgical practice in 2000.

Dr Altmann regularly attends ENT Surgical meetings and courses, has published in prestigious surgical journals and is co-convenor of an international medical conference for colleagues from General Practice and other Specialties with over 100 delegates each year.

If you are travelling long distances to visit Dr Altmann and think you, your partner or child may require surgery then please let our receptionist, Bev know as we can often book to see remote patients on one day with a tentative booking for Ear, Nose or Throat Surgery on the next day to save at least one long return trip.
